Tabata seems to be the hot new thing in the fitness world. This High-Intensity Interval Traning (HITT) is one of the most effective forms of exercise that you can do because it puts your body through a wide range of motion in such a short period of time.
What is Tabata : In the ’90s a Japanese professor Dr. Izumi Tabat led a study showing that exactly four minutes of intense interval training was just as effective as hours of lighter workouts–the “Tabata Protocol” was born.
How is Tabata performed :Tabata is usually started with a 10 minute warmup which increases your heart rate by doing stuff like lunges or high knee etc. After which “Tabata” part of your workout is started which should only last for exactly four minutes, and usually involves repeating one exercise quickly and intensely (like squats or jumping jacks) and then taking a short 10 second recovery break. This is repeated eight times, with a focus on working just one muscle group, and really pushing yourself 100 percent during the 20 second working period. Try the routine given below!!
